Mike and I made a return trip to 'Walophosocan' to visit the people or habitants of the planet. Nancy came with us and she introduced us to an older couple who are in their early 80s. Nancy translated; The couple spoke something similar to the Scandinavian language. The male goes by a name of Ranocalodopia but that is my best pronunciation. We decided to give them names that we can easily remember. Mike called him Ran and the female partner is Dal, short for Daloniamarianpia. Talk about tongue twisters.
Ran and Dal live in a very small rustic dwelling amongst gardens, mountainous terrain and short mature trees surrounding their home and their neighbors. They share the gardens with the neighbors. Nancy knew a bit about the couple but admits she too was amazed at the work ethics and lifestyle of Ran and Dal. She said they were still working to provide for themselves. The couple both continue to work in the hospitality sector, specifically on a farm within a village. The people on this planet rarely retire and they do what they like to do until they are physically unable or should I say disabled. Work is not just work but a livelihood and a way to give back to their society or community. They work with others of all ages; the younger generations learn a lot from the old folks. The couple never had children but adopted some and their adopted children are grown up and work at the same farm.
The couple live in a small village and do not have public transportation to and from work. They actually use something that looks a bit like a bicycle. No fuel is needed except kinetic energy. In fact, it is self-propelled but appears to create momentum much better than bicycles. Their pedalling creates a lot of propulsion which is expected but the use of magnets in the wheels and near the brakes helps to sustain speeds for a longer period of time. If Earth engineers could see it, they would be marvelled at the design. As Mike put it, it brings new meaning to walking the dogs because they have a pet that joins in on the trips to work. Yes, they take their dog named Ban (short for Banimoudaphor) to work and the dog helps with the trips. Dogs were born to contribute to humanity here. This is done with dog sledding on Earth but this is taking it a step further and both the people and dog(s) propel the craft.
I pet Ban who is very tall and looks like a racing dog, a greyhound, but it has a shorter snout that is similar to a boxer. She is very tall; she is almost our height when on all fours but is about 7 to 8 feet tall on her hind legs. We discovered that when the dog gave Mike a big greeting with her tongue. Mike said he was not expecting that but he wondered how he tasted. Other than that, Ban was well behaved. Mike asked what does she eat? Answer: A high protein diet of what is grown in their garden. We did not see cans or bags of dog food.
Their days are longer than on Earth. They too have longer and shorter days during their year but they have more hours of daylight during the longest. Work gives senior citizens of this planet a reason to keep moving and remain fairly healthy. Mike asked if they have any health issues. They said they are slower than the younger ones but they at least stay on their feet most of the day. A healthy diet is important too. But as far as any ailments, they said they are fortunate but know that they cannot live forever. They said that Ran's father lived to be 110 earth years. Ran wants to live longer.
We did not stay overnight but said our goodbyes and thanked all for the tour. That is our story and we flew back to Sussx (Michael's) with Nancy.
